Tennyson Week Two

Tennyson's doing great! At two weeks he was back up to his birth weight. He also got his circumcision, so we had some rough moments this week (not too many, though). One thing I noticed about Tennyson this week is that he's pretty "chill." Zooey had a much shorter fuse as a baby...she'd scream when she woke up hungry and during diaper changes and bath. Tennyson only cries hard when he's super hungry, cold after bath or in gas/tummy pain. And when he cries (and believe me - I know this could change as he continues to "wake up" closer to a month or so...), he is usually calmed pretty quickly by being held. He also takes a pacifier, which his sister never did, so maybe he just gets soothed easier due to that. He was a little more alert this week, too, so I started doing some more waketime activities with him, like the swing and tummy time. He doesn't like tummy time. :) Tennyson started doing better during the night this week; I think we found the "sweet spot" for the dreamfeed, at 11:30. I pump at 10:45, and Ryan gives him a bottle so I can get a longer stretch of sleep, then he went to about 2:30 and again until 6:30.

Zooey likes to get on the floor with him during floor time and talk to him. It's really sweet. Zooey also doesn't like it when he cries and says, "Oh no! Baby Tennyson crying! Stop Baby Tennyson!" She gets quite distressed; she loves him. Tennyson almost always opens his eyes when Zooey is in the room and talking. When she goes up to him, he just stares at her. I love it! Tennyson also hung out with Gideon a little bit this week. They're going to be best buddies, I'm sure. Gideon is so super cute and just stares at Tennyson and tries to grab his hand. He smiles at Tennyson, too!
