Tennyson 6 Months

My big boy is six months old. While I always thought Zooey grew crazy fast, I think time is going even faster this time around. I find myself thinking things like, "Wow! Tennyson is doing this so early!" only to realize he's right on track, and for some reason I think he's younger than he is. It's crazy!

Tennyson is 18lbs, 26". He is a BIG boy, 65% for weight and 25% for height.

He's been up to a lot, this guy...

He's now sitting almost independently

He can roll from back to front and vice versa and prefers sleeping on his tummy, except sometimes still gets stuck

He's using his voice a lot more; lots of little squeals and some "ba," "da," "ma." He also does that fast breathing thing babies do when they get excited that's so adorable.

He sucks his thumb when he's sleeping

1/31 - had first solid food, rice cereal. He's now up to eating 2-sometimes 3 times a day. He gets really excited, like Zooey did, where his little hands shake in anticipation.

end of January - recognizes name

mid February - found, and loved, his feet

3/10 - had his first ride in the swing at the park. He thought it was awesome and smiled almost the whole time!

2/17 - said "mamamama"

Although he has massive drool and sticks everything in his mouth, the pediatrician sees no tooth buds at this time.

Things he loves:
Zooey. Oh.my.goodness! He LOVES Zooey so much!
Daddy gets big smiles, too!
Gideon. The other day I was watching them, and Tennyson grabbed Gideon's hand, while Gideon shoved his fingers of his other hand in Tennyson's mouth. They share germs and love.
The jumparoo
The "itsy bitsy spider" song
Tickles
Peek-a-boo
Books

Things he doesn't love:
When I walk away...separation anxiety has begun!
He is really particular about having a dirty diaper changed right away

I love how snuggly Tennyson is. I know once he's mobile, some of the snuggles will stop, so I'm cherishing all of them. He's often content to sit on my lap after he nurses and just take the world in. If he falls asleep nursing, I hold him extra long (well, as long as I can with a four year old to look after too!), and I just breathe in that baby smell. Knowing he's my last makes me want to slow things WAY down. I don't stress quite as much about things with him, like his schedule or every little thing that could be wrong with him. That's the nice part of having a second! Tennyson continues to be pretty laid back, with the exception of when he's really hungry or the start of this separation anxiety. He just watches the world with a mellow gaze. He also does love silly stuff, like silly faces and tickles.  I love watching him and Zooey interact. He keeps his eyes fixed on her when she is in the room. He rarely is upset by her climbing near him or over him or hugging him. He just smiles and laughs at him. It is so exciting this time around to also see my other child experience my baby. It's just so special to watch and brings so much joy to my heart.
