36 Weeks

I am at "that point." Do you know what I mean? The point where you feel ginormous and just ready to meet your little one because you're so uncomfortable and huge that you feel like you are lugging a house along with you? That being said, I'm still trying to cherish the pregnancy and this time, especially when little Tennyson wiggles around in there. It truly is a miracle the way that God designed life to grow. As uncomfortable as pregnancy gets, I know there will come a point where I'll miss it and try to rack my heart and my brain to remember what it felt like.

How far along: 36 weeks

Size of Baby: about the size of a head of romaine lettuce (about 6.5 lbs. & 18.5")

Total weight gain: +35 lbs.

Stretch marks? Nope.

Sleep: Still doing ok, just getting up a lot but able to fall back asleep quickly

Best moment this week: I finished a lot of the nursery, except for a couple pictures that I'd like to hang.  We also got my maternity pictures done, along with some of Zooey and some of us as a family. That was fun, and I can't wait to see them! We haven't had professional pictures taken of us for about 2.5 years.

Movement: Strong and frequent. He is on a little routine and gets especially active around 9:30 at night. It's fun to watch and feel him move around.

Food cravings: big craving for pickles today, iced tea

What I miss: Being able to bend over, running.

What I am looking forward to: Meeting this little guy!

Milestones: I think he's getting lower based on the pressure I'm feeling (fun!). He is losing his lanugo and vernix caseosa and continues to pack on the pounds.

Labor signs: Practice contractions and oh.my.goodness - the nesting! I forgot how it hits and puts you into a cyclone of activity to prepare everything. I've been a busy lady the last few days for sure! I went to the doctor and am 1cm dilated, and Tennyson's head down.

Sometimes it's fun to look back at my pregnancy with Zooey. I didn't post a bump pic for 36 weeks with her but I did blog it!

36 weeks, Tennyson

Another shot of the nursery...in which I noticed his name needs to be leveled out a little. My "nesting" project for tomorrow!

34 week update

Ok, I know I'm closer to 35 weeks, but I thought Friday I was looking a little lower and Sarah noticed it. Then Ryan mentioned I may've dropped a little yesterday, and my mom asked me today, so I thought I'd do a quick update. I do feel more pressure in my pelvis and hips than I did, and the heartburn seems to be a little better, too. So, I'll hold off on my normal questions until my next update, but for now here is a lovely Sunday-no-makeup picture of my dropping belly.

Also, I got the nursery all organized, so here are some pic's of our new pictures and some of the sweet things we've gotten.

Paint & Swollen Ankles

Ryan stayed up until after 1:00 putting primer on my living room walls. He also had to work today from at least 9-6, so I'm very appreciative. :) I do believe our nesting instinct is in full swing, don't you? :) My mom came over today to help me paint and also to help my grandma with some things. We started painting at about 10:45 and kept going, with a short break for lunch, until 4:25. Here are the results so far. Other results include sciatic nerve pain, swollen ankles and expectation of a very good night of sleep. The hardwood floor people are coming to finish our floors this week; they should be done by Wednesday or Thursday, and what you will see is a nice oak color, which is a little lighter than the color you see now. Hard work pays off, because I am proud of the results so far.

The Nursery Is Finished!

Well, first of all, Ryan is awesome! He began painting the nursery about two weeks ago. He was in there in the evenings and on his day off, on the weekends, just making sure that the paint job was perfect. I am so pleased with the way it turned out! Then, last Thursday, my sweet husband stayed up until about 11:00 - after cleaning ALL of our carpet and clearing off a bookshelf AND helping me move things from the old-office-now-nursery closet - to set up a bookshelf and move the glider into the nursery. Friday night, after he worked a 10.5 hour day, he came home and assembled the crib. Wait, it gets even better. I went to bed at 11:00 only to wake up the next morning to find he stayed up until 1:30 moving the crib into the nursery, putting the bedding on the crib and setting up the hamper, lamp and diaper hanger. WOW! Am I a lucky lady, or what? :) I appreciate all his hard work so much, and I think our nursery is beautiful! I can't wait to welcome our beautiful little girl into the world and tuck her sweetly into bed.

Tropical Punch

Found the nursery stuff I liked on a few websites but on Amazon.com for the least expensive, so I ordered it today! It is adorable. It is Jungle Theme. It is soft/hot pink, pastels and dreamsicle orange. I loved it from the first time I saw it, and I'm lucky enough to have a husband who says, "I don't care, do whatever you want. Yes, it's cute!" :) Now we just have to get 1) the garage cleaned out and then 2) the office cleaned out, so that early August we can paint, set up furniture and organize/decorate our little girl's nursery. I can't wait!!

By the way, please bear with my placenta brain. I was going to "e-mail this out" as some might recall from the last posting. My reasoning for this was that I didn't want internet stalkers to have my registry info., because then they could know my name and other info. Then I remembered that since I was purchasing nursery stuff, that didn't really matter and that I am going crazy.

Got the crib

I went to Target today with my grandma and my mom and picked up our crib. Yay! I know it's early, but I'm starting to plan the nursery now. That way we'll have a lot of it ready to go and won't have to stress so much down the line. Here's a link to the crib:

http://www.target.com/Delta-Childrens-Products-Changer-Cider/dp/B001P1Y6FS/181-8263535-8745216?ie=UTF8&node=13298321&frombrowse=1&pricerange=&index=tgt-mf-mv&field-browse=13298321&rank=pmrank&rh=&page=2

I tried to post a picture, but it didn't work. We love this crib, because it comes with the changing table attached. The crib turns into a twin or full bed, and the changing table becomes an end table.
