Seriously, you guys - can you believe it?! I can't. I really can't. The last three years have flown by, and so incredibly much has happened, and little Zooey has just been the constant sunshiney addition to our family.
We ended up doing two separate gatherings this year, one for family and one for friends. Zooey got a little overwhelmed at both, so it's probably a good thing we didn't try to combine. She had so much fun at both, though, too. She understood from being to other birthday parties this year that we would sing "Happy Birthday," and she would get cake. Her request was for chocolate with chocolate icing, and when I asked her what her favorite part of her birthday was, she said cake. Although it was a little much for her to open all the presents, the next day she enjoyed going through them a little more slowly and being able to play with them. We also went to the zoo on her actual birthday, and there are a couple pictures below of when she was being adorable and friendly. She was pretty crabby the rest of the day (found out later she was coming down with a virus). I can't believe my baby is three! She is so amazing and I love having her in our lives.
